FREAKSHOW

FREAKSHOW

Ibn Michael Hilliard better known as FREAKSHOW in the entertainment business, was born on July 19th, 1983 in Jacksonville, Fl. The oldest out of four brothers and one sister in a single parent home quickly had to grow up and assume the role of the man of the house. All this pressure was leading him to become a statistic and end in prison or the cemetery.
On November of 2008 Ibn met a guy by the name of David Griffin, who heard Ibn sing in a close relative funeral. Mr. Griffin approach Ibn and told him “It’s a blessing to have a voice like yours, that can touch someone’s heart like that”. That’s when Ibn realized that his talent was real and that music is what he wants to do and at the same time he wanted to touch peoples life’s with his talent. Even though he sings he soon discover that rapping is what he really wanted to do, however, he wasn’t going to stop singing. He soon started to write and going to local studios in the area where they gave him the name of “FREAKSHOW”.  Going to the studio and carrying his writing pad everywhere he went became part of his daily routine.
In April 2010 he became part of the Underworld Boyz and dropped his first single “I Fuck With You”, that to his surprise sold over 8,000 copies in the first 3 months. With a hit single and starting be noticed by influential people in the entertainment business Freakshow was now consider a local sensation and he kept bringing new sounds and innovative ideas to the Hip-Hop and R&B followers. This buzz landed him appearances in local events in the Jacksonville, FL and surrounding areas. He also participated in the Soule Model’s Charity Event in Baltimore, MD, Chamaleon Club Café event hosted by Dr. Doom in Orange Park, FL, The Experience Tour in Tallahassee, Fl, and Young African America Association Charity Event in Jacksonville, FL among many other life performances.

Live Performance

In October 2010 “FREAKSHOW” like many other talented artists started associating himself with the wrong crowd and even though his career was looking very promising street quick money to support his family was a big distraction. And as consequence of these actions he encounter problems with the justice system. Now behind bars he had time to reflect in the errors that he made and he knew he had to put himself together cause a lot of people depended on him. He started to write and had a pretty good idea how he wanted to do things when he got out. In March 2011 shortly after his release and  re-inventing himself he hop back in the studio and handling business accordingly.

This days with a team behind him from manager (Miss. E at N.Y.C. Connexion), producers, recording studio that he have access to at any given time that he feels like recording he is back in the picture and leading by example. Freakshow has been doing shows like The Easter Sunday Block Party Hosted by DJ Gitt with Bigga Rankin and Cool Running DJ’s, Open act for Gunplay (Maybach Music) at Tiffany’s in Jacksonville, FL, Open act for Brisco (Young Money) at Club Mascaras, Open act for Webbie at Bourbon St. in Jacksonville, FL and also Open for Webbie at Christopher’s in Orange Park, FL., among other performances.
Currently “FREAKSHOW” is working in several projects with producers like Twenty-8 (M.O.E. and Winsquad), Frito Mr. L.I.D. (N.Y.C. Connexion/L.I.D. Productions), Keith "The Beast" (Hamsquad), Terry…T (Royal Flush), among other great producers to bring quality and a mix of new and refreshing sounds to his fans. While working on his Mixtape “STAY IN YA LANE” soon, follow by his EP at the beginning of 2012, FREAKSHOW is playing Pro Basketball with A.B.A. Jacksonville’s Giants Team as a pointguard and looking forward to collaborate and share stages with other great artists like he have done in the past.

Featured artist; DON IVAN “El Phenomeno"

Having served two tours of duty in Iraq and the Middle East, this highly decorated combat veteran’s second tour was cut short when on December 23, 2004 his unit was ambushed while doing a door-to-door sweep in Fallujah, which the U.S. military described as “some of the heaviest urban combat U.S. Marines have been involved in since the Battle of Huế City in Vietnam.” A born leader, Don Iván took up the point position during an anything but routine search of a neighborhood known to harbor Iraqi insurgents. He had just successfully completed the search and destruction of one building, when he moved on to the next. Just as he was about to lob a grenade inside, the front door burst open and the enemy opened fire with an AK-47 assault rifle. More enemy combatants instantly appeared in the windows and on the rooftop and rained down a barrage of gunfire on him and his unit. Don Iván was hit with five rounds of enemy fire and the grenade he was about to launch fell to the ground and exploded mere inches away from where he lay.

Thanks to the quick action of Navy Corpsman HM2 Matthew Early and his brothers in arms, Don Iván’s life was spared that day. He did, however, suffer a collapsed lung, a shattered humerus, ruptured femoral artery and a multitude of other injuries. He spent over one month in various hospitals where he underwent multiple surgeries. While hospitalized in Bethesda, Maryland he was visited by the Commandant and was personally awarded his Purple Heart by the highest-ranking officer in the Marine Corps. Unable to return to action, Don Iván reluctantly chooses to be honorably discharged from the Marine Corps rather than take a desk job. With his military career behind him he is free to pursue his other love—music!

Born Carlos Ilarraza Allende in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Don Iván was exposed to Latin music and culture at an early age. He moved to the U.S. at the age of 11 where his father introduced him to a wide variety of music ranging from salsa to rock to freestyle to R&B. Don Iván has successfully blended this wide range of influences to create his own distinctive brand of Latin Urban Music. With songs ranging from love to life on the streets to high-energy dance beats, his unique sound results in a crossover format that is sure to impress even the most discriminating music critic. The prolific lyrics and infectious grooves will pound away in your head long after the music has stopped.

His life experiences exceed most and is evident in the depth of his lyrics. Don Iván “el phenomeno” is a singer, songwriter, producer and performer and is arguably one of the most lethal and agile contenders in the Latin Urban Movement. His real, raw and fierce lyrics, combined with his electrifying live performances have garnered much praise and adulation from many industry professionals. At such an early stage in his career, he has already collaborated with well-known producer Jeeve (Carlos Santana, Paulina Rubio, Luis Fonsi, Chelo, Rigo Luna, Tupac Shakur, The Game, Lina and Darius Rucker) and has worked with producers from both North and South America as well as Europe. Don Iván has toured extensively throughout California and performed as a house act at The Rumba Room on the Universal City Walk throughout 2005. He has supported such artists as Tego Calderon, Cristian Castro, Rocky Padilla, Brenton Wood, Zapp, Tevin Campbell, Jon B, Evelyn Champagne King, Debarge, En Vogue, Debbie Deb, and Chamillionaire.

At first look you will see something refreshingly different about Don Iván. From his tailor-made suits to his spit-shined shoes, he exudes an air of success and confidence. Although the fierceness of his lyrics and the swagger of his gait may seem intimidating, Don Iván is the consummate class act.

Don Iván is without a doubt the complete package. With the discipline and precision of a military machine, he continues to hone his writing and producing skills. When not on the road performing you will find him working in the studio for days on end. His passion for perfection and desire to constantly evolve as an artist will keep this rising star burning bright for some time to come.

Keep up with Don Ivan;

The song is produced by upcoming superproducer DIGGZ, who has produced for many independent artists over the years. ‘DIGGZTOWN Vol 1: The Nightlife’ synopsis:
The theme to this compilation is showcasing the Nightlife, and giving us that Springtime/Summertime feel that is missing from music nowadays. This will definitely be the type of CD that you will keep in the dash while you are driving, dancing, washing your car, etc. Most of the songs are Club ready, and would keep you dancing as well. Per DIGGZ, who is producing the entire project,”As individuals, we have warped our minds on whatever is on the radio is what's hot, but I wanted to specifically use this theme so that we can have fun again with music. Most of the artists on this project are Indies, and I chose this because they were humble enough to create behind my production. Trust me, you will definitely not be disappointed with the end results.”

Look for "DIGGZTOWN Vol 1: The Nightlife" to hit digital download in April!

Single available for Digital Download on 2/25/2011 on the following sites:
