Dungeon Masta

Biography

It won’t happen. What won’t happen?  Just know it will never happen.  Never again will the Hip-Hop community be treated to a lyrical story telling genius that’s interested more in entertaining, using well crafted, extremely creative, and super informative facts instead of aimlessly promoting negative and often false images that continue to be the killer of the most beloved genre of music for Generation Next, Hip-Hop.  Sadly, it just will never happen again.  Well luckily, for die-hard fans of both Hip-Hop culture and music the world over, Dungeon Masta is here, and to the displeasure of mediocre MCs worldwide, true lyrical skills are back to being a must, not an option.  Born in New York City’s largest and deadliest borough, Brooklyn, served as the rearing site for a future MC who would later adopt the performance moniker of Dungeon Masta.  Poised to bring the real back to rap music and I mean the realest, hardest, most in your face and thought-provoking lyrics to bless Hip-Hop since the legendary Wu-Tang Clan is the labor of love inherited by Dungeon Masta.  A proud disciple of original Wu-Tang Clan General, the late great Ol’ Dirty Bastard is who majorly helped mold Dungeon Masta into the one of a kind rhyming wordsmith he is today.

As one of the founding members of ODB’s famed Brooklyn Zu, regiment Dungeon Masta has exchanged lyrical blows with many of the biggest names in Hip-Hop to include but not limited to O.D.B., Public Enemy, Rakim, Special Ed, Professor X (X Clan), Peedi Crack, Popa Wu, Buddha Monk and Kid Capri.  Following in the long tradition of immensely popular as well as highly successful Brooklyn rappers such as Big Daddy Kane, The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and Fabolous comes the “Big Apple’s” best hope of reclaiming Hip-Hop’s #1 spot since 50 Cent.  The consummate entertainer Dungeon Masta is as awesome performing his signature high energy stage show, as he is writing nail biting raps and producing groundbreaking production.  A veteran on the tour circuit and media sensation complements of countless videos on the internet has made the originator of “Gothic”, a new edgy style of music that’s taking New York City and the entire East Coast by storm, the new “it” MC in rap music’s multi-billion dollar a year industry.

The fearlessness that Dungeon Masta possesses in his pursuit of rap greatness takes a backseat only to his steadfast commitment to aid and mentor inner-city youth on the “do’s and don’t’s” of survival.
Never one to sit idle, Dungeon Masta, in addition to creating “Gothic” is set to launch Morbid Society, Cemetery Row, and Dirty Clanzmen, proving that the Wu-Tang Clan was right for making him the voice of the “10th Chamber”, one of the next installments in the illustrious “W” history.  So, for the lyrical master determined to honor his deceased mentor Ol’ Dirty Bastard through a celebration of solo hits and as a member of the all-star group United Kingdom headed by Wu-Tang mentor Popa Wu are the intangibles that have Dungeon Masta positioned to end the Statue of Liberty’s drought of Hip-Hop supremacy.

A True Motivational Speaker

Nick is an inspirational speaker and says;

"Motivation gets you through the day, but inspiration lasts a lifetime."

Imagine being born without arms. No arms to wrap around someone, no hands to experience touch, or to hold another hand with. Or what about being born without legs? Having no ability to dance, walk, run, or even stand on two feet. Now put both of those scenarios together: no arms and no legs. What would you do? How would that effect your everyday life?

Meet Nick Vujicic... Born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, without any medical explanation or warning, Nicholas Vujicic (pronounced Voy-a-chich) came into the world with neither arms nor legs. Having had an uneventful pregnancy and no family history to expect this condition, imagine the shock his parents felt when they saw their first born, brand new baby boy, only to find he was what the world would consider imperfect and abnormal. A limbless son was not what nurse Dushka Vujicic, and her husband Pastor Borris Vujicic had been expecting. How would their son live a normal happy life? What could he ever do or become when living with what the world would see as such a massive disability? Little did they know that this beautiful limbless baby would one day be someone who would inspire and motivate people from all walks of life, touching lives all over the world.

Throughout his childhood Nick dealt not only with the typical challenges of school and adolescence such as bullying and self-esteem issues; he also struggled with depression and loneliness as he questioned why he was different to all the other kids surrounding him; why he was the one born without arms and legs. He wondered what was the purpose behind his life, or if he even had a purpose. After a lot of frustration and feeling like the odd one out in school, at seven years of age Nick tried out some specially designed electronic arms and hands, in hopes that he would be more like the other kids. During the short trial period of the electronic arms, Nick realized that even with them, he was still unlike his peers at school, and they turned out to be much too heavy for Nick to operate, effecting his general mobility quite significantly.

As Nick grew up he learned to deal with his disability and started to be able to do more and more things on his own. He adapted to his situation and found ways to accomplish tasks that most people could only do by using their limbs, such as cleaning teeth, brushing hair, typing on a computer, swimming, playing sports, and much more. As time went by Nick began to embrace his situation and achieve greater things. In grade seven Nick was elected captain of his school and worked with the student council on various fund-raising events for local charities and disability campaigns.

According to Nick, the victory over his struggles throughout his journey, as well as his passion for life can be credited to his faith, his family, his friends and the many people he's encountered during his life who have encouraged him along the way.

After school Nick went on with further study and obtained a double bachelor degree majoring in accounting and financial planning. By the age of 19, Nick had started to fulfill his dream of encouraging others by sharing his story through motivational speaking. He found the purpose of his existence, and also the purpose in his circumstance. Nick wholeheartedly believes that there is a purpose in each of the struggles we encounter in our lives and that our attitude towards those struggles that can be the single most effective factor in overcoming them.

In 2005, Nick was nominated for the "Young Australian of the Year" Award, which is a large honor in Australia. The award honors a young person for their excellence and service to their local community and the nation, as well as their own personal accomplishments. Nominations for this award are only given to truly inspirational people.

Now at 27 years old, this limbless young man has accomplished more than most people even twice his age. Nick recently made the massive move from Brisbane, Australia to California, USA, where he is the president of an international non-profit organization, and also has his own motivational speaking company; Attitude Is Altitude. Since his first motivational speaking engagement back when he was 19, Nick has traveled around the world, sharing his story with millions of people, speaking to a range of different groups such as students, teachers, youth, business men and women, entrepreneurs, and church congregations of all sizes. He has also told his story and been interviewed on various televised programs worldwide. However, Nick's speaking engagements have gone beyond purely motivational speaking, he has had the opportunity to speak with several leaders, including the vice president of Kenya. This year alone Nick is set to speak in over 20 countries.

People ask Nick, "How can you smile?" Then they realize there's got to be something more to life than meets the eye if a guy without arms and legs is living a fuller life.

Nick shares with his audiences the importance of vision and dreaming big. Using his own experiences in worldwide outreach as examples, he challenges others to examine their perspective and look beyond their circumstances. He shares his view of ceasing to see obstacles as problems, but instead begin to see them as opportunities to grow and reach out to others. He stresses the importance of how attitude can be the most powerful tool we have at our disposal and illustrates how the choices we make can have a profound effect on our lives and the lives of those around us. Nick shows through his own life that the major keys in fulfilling our biggest dreams are persistence and choosing to embrace failure as a learning experience, rather than allowing the guilt and fear of failure to paralyze us.

How does Nick Vujicic feel about his disability now? He accepts it, embraces it and oftentimes pokes fun at his own circumstance as he shows off his many tricks. He meets challenges with his special blend of humor, perseverance and faith always encouraging those around him to examine their perspective as they develop and define their vision. Using those new definitions he challenges each person he meets to make changes in their lives so that they can begin the path to fulfilling their biggest dreams. Through his amazing ability to connect with people from all walks of life and his incredible sense of humor he captivates children, teens and adults alike, Nick is a true inspirational and motivational speaker.

DJ L.A

DJ L.A was born and raised on the island Bermuda; she developed a love for music early while she was in her mother’s womb; squirming around to whatever song her mom was playing on her record player. At the age of 6 she began to play around with the record player and started scratching and breaking records but always ended up getting spanked for scratching up her mom or aunt records. As L.A got older she got involved in other activities such as soccer, basket ball (even though she was the shortest out of her friends and the whole team), acting and comedy; but no matter what activity she was involved in she would always try to incorporate her first love – Music.
In May 2008, L.A decided to pursue her dream as a full time DJ; she started doing mixtapes under her promotion company “Youngin Promotions”; the most popular series that sold was “Shock Value” but L.A still felt a void. In April 2009; she was given the opportunity to play on “Party Like a Rock Star” Cruises held every month during the spring/
summer seasons on the M.V Longtail in Bermuda; the captain/owner of the boat was so impressed by L.A performance that he brought her back due to popular demand and from there a new era began for L.A. Now in 2010 L.A is trying to dominate every sector of DJ’ing possible; from club events, party promotions, mixtape hosting, to producing, you name it L.A is doing it.
A wise woman once told her; “You got the future; so run with it” question is; can you keep up?

STRES$

I got the pleasure to interview STRES$ and this is what he had to share with us....

First of all, thank you for the opportunity and opening the doors to us and our readers to get to know you a lil better and get familiar with your work and your talent.....
When did you start having interest in the entertainment business? How did you start?  I started having an interest in entertainment when my love for music finally spilled over into a recording studio. At the time I would just record a few freestyles until the CEO of the studio thought I could do it professionally. He then inked me to the (at the time) independent label “AKONO ENT” and that’s where my career started.

Where your artist name came from? And what does it stands for? It actually came from a basketball tournament. My teammates said dude guarding me looked stressed so they called me stress 1 because that was my number and after the tourney the 1 dropped and stress stuck…I added the dollar sign as a metaphor to always chase money thus Stres$

Is my understanding that you write your own lyrics, what inspires you and what kind of message you trying to transmit? Life inspires me the world is limitless and so is the human brain I really don’t have a particular message I just want to prove I can show my talent while entertaining my audience without dumbing it down. I try to bring the  essence of lyricism back to hip hop which I think is strongly lacking now a days

From all your songs so far... Which one you identify yourself the most? And Why?
I have several actually I have a record called so gone and a freestyle over the kanye west beat say you will where I touch on a lot of personal feelings such as never knowing a father or being stressed over life’s situation and some times feeling suicidal not literally   just to show the severity of life’s ups and downs. So I would say those two records

What is your opinion in a lot of the "mainstream" music that we listening to right now on the radio that a lot of times is full of non-sense and empty lyrics...
I think the game is a cycle…and unfortunately we’re in the cycle of hooks and beats so the lyrics are poor but its refreshing to see  new artist like Drake and J. Cole to start the wave of lyrical artist . Its sad of who dictates what’s hot when it comes to mainstream but whoever is in control is doing a poor job  just my opinion thank God for the artist who have substance and creativity , enough to create their own lane and not give in to “mainstream” music

What Mainstream Artist you look up to or inspire you?
I look up to Jayz who in my mind Is the greatest of all time  also look up to others such as Rick Ross, Kanye, Fabulous and Lil Wayne Artist who are innovative lyrical and creative

Now back to you... What is your most recent single?
I haven’t released an OFFICIAL single yet but the record I leaked was “Louie Shades” produced by Justice League.
Which due to paper work I wasn’t able to push it officially. The next single that will be released by me you will definitely hear about it shortly ….

Any upcoming projects or shows that we should be looking forward to?
Im in the lab currently as we speak working on records for my next project “blood on my notepad”
Stay tuned for new music, videos and shows etc   coming to you real soon

If one of our readers want to read more about you or want more information what sites they can go to or who the would contact? For all inquiries on me you can contact my manager @topknotch_diva by email at topknotchmgmt@gmail.com or calling her at 888-906-8806 ext 5 or follow me on twitter @stressgotbars and you will be able to hit me up directly and get all information.

Before we close this interview... Thank you again for the opportunity and any shout outs or any other information that you would wanna share with us? First and foremost thanks you guys for having me. Secondly I wanna shout out my city Miami dade county  my 4 horsemen team my management and everybody who loves and support me!  Da kid Stres$ signing out live life and God bless

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with the Best Female DJ & Best Host on a Mixtape Southern Entertainment Awards Nominee DJ BEANZ

It's a great honor for me to bring to you not only a great DJ, but also a friend, and one of the most hard working woman in the entertainment business.....

NYC Connexion; First of all thank you for giving us the opportunity to have this exclusive interview with you and giving us and the world a better idea of who is this Female DJ creating all this buzz.

DJ Beanz; Well, I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me and for all the support.

NYC Connexion; Dj Beanz, How did it all begin?

DJ Beanz;Well, I grew up utilizing music as my outlet in so many ways, but just to fast forward when I was 19 I moved to Florida and began promoting for a small Drum & Bass label, messing around on the DJ's tables during meetings and social gatherings until they finally just decided to throw me on the tables at a club one night. I say "throw" because I had NO warning (laughs) apparently they felt I was good enough at that point. When I got everyone on their feet dancing, it was a feeling I will never EVER forget, I just knew then that this is what I wanted to do.

NYC Connexion; Where did the name came from?

DJ Beanz; Well, when i first started I went with the name Soldata (meaning Soldier in Italian) but later when I moved to DC people started calling me Beanz because I'm from Boston (you know, the whole Boston Baked Beans thing) and a promoter put my name as DJ Beanz on a flyer one time and the name just stuck.

NYC Connexion; What are the names of some of the coalitions you currently belong to?

DJ Beanz; Fleet DJs, Slip N Slide DJs, 730 Dips DJs, Third Coast DJs, T.R.A.P. Star DJs & BLOK Club DJs

NYC Connexion; Besides you ofcourse, Who is/are you favorite DJ/DJ's?

DJ Beanz; Well, there are alot of DJs I truly look up to, I must say Roc Raida, Grand Master Flash & Tony Touch were reasons I always held an interest in Dee Jaying and my mentor & one of the most amazing DJs out now DJ Ykcor.

NYC Connexion; You have been nominated before for Best Female Dj at the International DJ Awards earlier this year. How does it feel to be nominated again not only for Best Female Dj but also for Best Host on a Mixtape? and Where can we go and vote?

DJ Beanz; I am so honored, especially being up against some great female DJs in that category. It feels amazing and Ive worked so hard so these nominations motivate me to keep grinding and growing. The feeling of being recognized and appreciated is something I can't explain. You can vote at http://www.southernentawards.com/ballot/vote.html

NYC Connexion; Talking about being nominated Best Host on a Mixtape, You have a great series of Mixtapes, Reigning Real... Where did the Reigning Real idea came from?

DJ Beanz; Thank you. Well....i always say "Real Recognize Real" and I have a few supporters that call me "Queen Beanz" (laughs) also I push REAL hip-hop to the fullest so I kind of linked all those concepts together & just came up with Reigning Real. Royality type shit, so nothing but the realest hip hop, reggae & R&B (in my eyes) goes into the series.

NYC Connexion; Reigning Real Vol. 1, Who hosted Vol. 1? (click in the pic below to listen/download for free)

DJ Beanz; Vol 1 was hosted By Money B, from Digital Underground and new hip-hop Duo M*A*S*K (Money B and Scott Knoxx). This was a big deal to me cause Money B happens to be an amazing DJ and back in the day Digital Underground had a major impact on hip-hop & I feel as though M*A*S*K has some refreshing music to bring to the table, also Mon has one of those memorable voices.

NYC Connexion; Who hosted Vol. 2? (click the pic below to listen/download for free)

DJ Beanz; Vol 2 was hosted by an artist I recently came across from Roxbury Massachusetts, Sean Hines. Ever since I heard the track "Check Your Man" I've been ON HIM! (laughs) Sean brings that real life hip hop to the table and his grind is incredible. He's fairly new to the game and my goal   right now is to break his records. He's very talented and his music, drive, style and voice is refreshing and an inspiration to me.

NYC Connexion; How can the artist submit music for one of your mixtapes and what are the requirements?

DJ Beanz; Artists can submit music to trax4beanz@gmail.com MP3s MUST be properly labeled with track title and artist name. I also appreciate Main, Clean, Instrumental and Accapella when available (allows for a more creative mix) I run specials for mixtape slots on a regular basis

NYC Connexion; I know you love to break records. Are you doing radio at this time? and What do you look for when you're gonna break a record?

DJ Beanz; I do love breaking Records! I DJ to push that heat in peoples ears. I stick to internet radio because it allows me to be as raw and free with my mix as possible. Right now I have 2 shows on Fleet DJ Radio ( http://www.fleetdjs.com/ ) which registers BDS so artists with publishing get paid and can track their spins. Spill the Beanz Radio airs every Monday at 12(noon) and Friday at 1pm EST. Also starting this Tuesday, Nov. 16 (and this is the exclusive part of the interview) I will be hosting along with E (My manager better known as Ms. NYC Connexion) a radio show called REIGNING REAL at http://www.teamblackradio.com/ on Tuesdays and thursday 10am and Wednesday 4:30pm you will be able to tune in from your phones and anywhere where internet is available. And I also have an all female mixshow on http://www.focusonthedj.com/ called a Female Take Over, its also accessible from Sprint, AT&T, Altell and Worldwide Cellular phones. There's more stations in the works (winks) but I wont talk about them quite yet.
When breaking an artist I look to see what separates them from other artists, something beyond the beat and a catchy hook. Also if the artist has no drive or desire to push their music why should I? So I look for hunger and consistent music from them, not just the "one hit wonder" type.

NYC Connexion; REIGNING REAL RADIO SHOW is gonna be crazy, those who know us are already saying radio will never be the same, so you all gotta check it out. Is there any artist you are working directly with at this time?

DJ Beanz; I have a lot of artists I'm working with right now but honestly my main focus is Sean Hines and Akshan (a reggae artist from the DMV area).

NYC Connexion; Ok changing the subject a lil bit , I know you also  model..... How does being a model complement your career as a DJ?

DJ Beanz; Well, it has its ups and downs because sometimes I just want to be recognized for what I do for hip-hop and not my looks but on the plus side it gives people a good visual to put with the music (laughs). I do enjoy a good photo shoot though.

NYC Connexion; What is the biggest misconception about DJ Beanz?

DJ Beanz; Everyone thinks Im Puerto Rican, Im actually Sicilian (laughs). Nah, I don't really know how to answer that because with me what you see is what you get honestly. I don't care too much what people think of me as long as they enjoy my mixes. I keep it 100% real and nothing less. I'm a very humble fun loving free spirit with a some what twisted personality. But any questions or thoughts people have about me, they can ask, I'm not easily offended by any means.

NYC Connexion; What is it about DJ Beanz that is creating all this buzz? and What's next for DJ Beanz?

DJ Beanz; From what I hear it's my grind. I literally don't sleep. I strive to be better and truly master the craft of turntablisim. There's not many female DJs first of all, and I definitely think my flavor is a lot different from the other female DJs. Whats next...hmmm....well I hope a Justos award (laughs) and there's alot of artists I really want to do mixtapes and possibly tour with. Mixtape wise I'd love to do tapes with Jadakiss, Styles P, Grafh, Papoose, Nu JerZey Devil and a few others.

NYC Connexion; I know you have a lot of work to do so we gonna let you go for now, but before we do... Is there any shout outs or anything you would want to add?
